Amizmiz Morocco

Amizmiz is a small town in Morocco approximately 55 kilometers south of Marrakech. It lies at the foot of the High Atlas mountain range.

Its population of approximately 11,000  consists mainly of Berbers of Chleuh origin who speak the amazigh dialect. Its weekly souk every Tuesday is well known in the area.

Geographically and economically, Amizmiz acts as a juncture point between the many small Berber villages in the surrounding area. The weekly souk is an important part of this economic role, as individual Berber farmers from the hills surrounding Amizmiz bring their produce and livestock to sell and, in return, purchase packaged food items like tea and sugar—items brought in from Marrakech .

Aït Benhaddou‎ is a fortified city, or ksar, along the former caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech in present-day Morocco. It is situated in Souss-Massa-Drâa on a hill along the Ounila River and is known for its kasbahs, although they take damage with each rainstorm. Most of the town's inhabitants now live in a more modern village at the other side of the river; however, eight families still live within the ksar.

Taourirt Morocco

Taourirt  is a town in Taourirt Province in the northern part of Morocco. Situated in the Oriental region about 100 km west to the city of Oujda.

The town is important as a transport link: the main east-west railway from Casablanca - Rabat - Fez in the west to Oujda in the east runs through Taourirt. Also bus lines running from several cities in the Nador province (including the city of Nador) make a stop in the town.

The new branch line of the Moroccan railways running from Taourirt to Nador opened in 2009. This line runs alongside the existing road, through the mountains, to Nador.

Taourirt is also known because of its ancient Kasbah.

Mirleft Region Pictures

Mirleft Morocco

Mirleft is a small village to the south of Tiznit on the Atlantic coast, and about 2.5 hours from Agadir airport.  The town is very Moroccan – rarely will you see Moroccan women in the town itself!  A small market is held in the town where the men go to purchase the goods and local produce for their family, and the women work in the fields, manage the house and look after the children.

The beach is large and quiet, remote and peaceful, perfect for a romantic break or complete chill out.

Close to  Mirleft there is an oasis and a ruined fort, as well as the Spanish, Art-deco town of Sidi Ifni, the Saturday morning camel market at Goulimine and the Oasis of Tata on the Sahara plain.
