Taza Morocco
Taza is a nice small moroccan city, in the Fez region in Morocco, Taza is an ancient city, it has also the new modern part of the city which is the modern Taza that lies below the old town.
Taza has a lot of Almohad historic monuents mainly mosques, the Andalous Mosque and the Grand Mosque, these mosques are are an eye witness of the aura when the city was developped by the Almohads, the grand mosque was buily by Sultan Abd el-Moumen Al Almohads., and is believed to be more ancient that the Tin Mal Mosque in the south of Morocco, Tizi N'Test region also founded by Almohads.
Taza is not though a well known moroccan city, because the city is small and has so many neighboring cities that are of more importance in Morocco History, mainly the city of Fez.
The valley in the northern side of Taza, is a pass between the Rif Mountains and the Middle Atlas Mountains, Taza is a walled city, the city's wall was built by almohads, to have the city as a military castle to controll the valley, and the neighboring areas, the wall has so many ruined sides, the main interesting gate is the city's wall is "Bab Rouah".
